The 1970 Brazil team is consensus the greatest national team ever assembled. Pelé, Tostão, Gerson, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Carlos Alberto. They scored 19 goals in 6 World Cup matches in Mexico, won every game, and produced the goal Pelé later called his favourite — the back-heel pass to Carlos Alberto for the fourth in the 4-1 final win over Italy. Pelé himself said this was the best team he ever played on, the only Brazil team that combined his level of individual talent with the collective midfield architecture of Gerson and Tostão.

Specs and Fit

The shirt is short-sleeve (1970 didn't have long-sleeve options for tropical-climate national teams), wide green collar trim, the CBF crest at left chest with three stars above (the third star added in 1970 itself, after the title was won — original 1970 in-tournament shirts had two stars). Our reproduction has three stars matching the post-tournament commemorative version, which is the version most collectors want.

Customisation Options

Heat-press supports any name up to 14 characters and any number 1 through 99. The most-ordered customisation on this variant is the player number associated with the shirt era — but you're free to use your own surname or a child's name. Custom press takes 24–48 hours after order confirmation. We send a WhatsApp preview photo of the layout before pressing — once it's heat-set into the fabric, it's permanent.

Quality and Sourcing

This is a 1:1 replica from a verified Putian or Thai workshop. The fabric vendor is the same one Nike's licensed retail uses in many cases. The heat-press machinery is the same. The dye lots are sometimes the same batch. What differs: the licensed CBF authentication tag, the licensed Nike swoosh embroidery (which we replace with a heat-press), and the legal authorisation to call this 'official Brazil National Team product.' We don't make that claim. We sell it as a 1:1 visual reproduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 1970 retro short-sleeve only?

Yes for historical accuracy. The 1970 shirt was short-sleeve in tournament use; there was no long-sleeve variant produced. Some unofficial 'commemorative' editions in the 1990s added long-sleeve, but those aren't faithful to the original. Our reproduction is short-sleeve, period.

Three stars or two stars on the crest?

Three stars. The 1970 World Cup was won wearing the two-star shirt, and the third star was added immediately after to commemorate. Most collectors want the three-star version because it reflects what the shirt represented after the tournament. We do offer the two-star in-tournament version as a custom press; ask in WhatsApp.

What's the fabric? It's not modern Vapor.

Vintage cotton-poly blend, slightly heavier than modern Nike Vapor. The factory we use sources fabric specifically for 1970s and 1980s retro reproductions — a different supply chain than the modern Vapor stock. The hand-feel is closer to a 1990 Brazil shirt than a 2024 one. That's intentional and desired by collectors.

Can I add Pelé #10 to the back?

Yes. The 1970 retro is most often ordered with Pelé #10 at the back, original block-style numerals (no shadow, no outline — 1970 was simple). Free customisation, included in the $35 fan / $50 player price. Other historical numbers ordered: #4 Carlos Alberto, #11 Rivelino, #7 Jairzinho.

Will the colour fade over time?

The yellow on 1970 reproductions tends to deepen rather than fade — vintage cotton-poly has different ageing behaviour than modern synthetic. After 2–3 years of regular wear, the yellow becomes slightly more amber. Most collectors consider this a feature, not a bug.
