Most "kids" jerseys at adidas.com or Nike.com are actually small-men's patterns labeled XS-S. They fit a 12-year-old reasonably; they fit an 8-year-old like a tent. The Putian factories we coordinate with run a separate youth pattern set — sized 16 (roughly 4-year-old), 18 (6yr), 20 (8yr), 22 (10yr), 24 (12yr), 26 (14yr). The torso is shorter, the sleeves are shorter, the shoulder line is narrower, and the proportions match actual kid bodies. The pattern files are licensed (where adidas/Nike publish youth patterns) or constructed from scratch (where they don't).
For the Messi cluster specifically we carry three variants in youth fit: Argentina home #10 (3 stars above the AFA crest, defending champions), Argentina away navy (the kit Argentina won the 2022 semi-final in), and Inter Miami pink #10 (Messi's MLS team, his post-Argentina decade). The Argentina home is the most-ordered (about 64% of youth Messi orders), Inter Miami pink takes another 28%, the away navy 8%.

Beyond size 26 (14yr), kids who've grown into adult sizes order the standard men's S or M from the regular Messi pages. About 18% of our youth orders are size 22 (9-10yr); 22% are size 24 (11-12yr); 16% are size 26 (13-14yr). Size 16 (3-4yr) is uncommon — about 6% — partly because parents often skip the gift and wait for the kid to actually express interest.
Custom name and number
The single most-ordered customization on youth Messi kits is the kid's first name above #10 (replacing "Messi") — about 38% of youth orders. The kit becomes uniquely the kid's, while keeping Messi's #10. The next most popular: kid's first name + their birth-year number (e.g. "DIEGO 18" for a kid born 2018) at 24%. Standard "MESSI 10" accounts for 26%. The remaining 12% are other customs.
Custom name and number are free on the fan version. Letters, numbers 1-99, no extra charge. The metallic-border numbers (the chrome-look on adult AAA) cost $5 extra and are only on AAA youth. Tell us on WhatsApp the name and number you want.
Buyer's perspective
About 72% of youth Messi orders are gifts — birthday, Christmas, end-of-school-year — rather than direct from the kid. Parents and grandparents are the typical buyers. The other 28% are kids ordering with parental approval. The Inter Miami pink variant is more popular in US-based gift-buyers (about 41% of US youth Messi orders) than the Argentina home (36%); outside the US, Argentina home is dominant (78% of non-US youth Messi orders).
