Authentic retail

Four jersey tiers exist. The difference between them is real but not what most people think.

"Authentic" is industry shorthand for the same garment players wear on the field — released by the manufacturer (adidas/Nike/Puma) at the highest retail tier ($130-$200 USD), labeled "Player Version", "Authentic Match", "HEAT.RDY", "Vapor Match", or similar. "Replica" is the licensed fan version released alongside it ($90-$110 USD), with looser fit and slightly different fabric. "1:1 top batch" is what we coordinate — a Putian or Thai workshop production run from the same pattern files as the licensed retail, with the same heat-bonded crest construction and the same fabric supplier, manufactured on overflow capacity outside the licensed allocation.

What 1:1 actually means in practice

The Putian factories we coordinate with run the licensed retail overflow shifts. When Adidas signs a multi-year deal for, say, the Argentina national kit, the contract specifies a maximum production volume that goes through the official supply chain. Demand routinely exceeds that volume — especially during a World Cup cycle. The same pattern files, the same fabric supplier, and (for the AAA player version) the same engineered-mesh fabric are used on the overflow runs. The garment is functionally identical to what's on the field; the difference is the licensing chain.

For the quality guide covering the 4-dimension QC test we run before shipping. For the what is a replica jersey primer if you're new to the category. For the broader find directory with all 16 country teams.

The sweat test

The single biggest functional difference between fan ($30 / $90) and AAA ($45 / $130+) is summer performance. The engineered-mesh fabric on AAA breathes about 40% better than standard polyester knit when measured for moisture-wicking under exercise load. For a 90-minute summer 5-a-side game, this is the difference between a dry shirt and a soaked shirt. For a sofa watch party in air-conditioned rooms, the difference is invisible.

This is why our buyer split is roughly: 72% fan version ($30) for casual fans, watch parties, gifts, and collection display. 28% AAA ($45) for active players, summer matches, and fans who specifically want the player-issue feel. The choice is functional, not status.

What the 1:1 batch is NOT

To be clear about what we don't sell: we don't sell fake authentics labeled as licensed retail. We don't sell counterfeit anything. The 1:1 batch is openly described as a Putian factory production run from the same pattern files as the licensed product, sold at a different price point because it doesn't go through the licensing chain. If you want the licensed product with the licensed retail price tag, buy from adidas.com or Nike.com.

Common questions.

Is 1:1 the same as authentic?

Functionally close, technically different. The 1:1 AAA at $45 uses engineered-mesh fabric matching the authentic's climachill / HEAT.RDY equivalent. Fabric weight and breathability test within 5% of authentic. The licensing chain differs — authentic comes through adidas.com / Nike.com, 1:1 comes through Putian factory overflow capacity. Same pattern files, same fabric supplier.

Why is the licensed fan replica more expensive than 1:1?

The $90-$110 licensed fan replica price is set by the licensing chain — adidas/Nike margin, retailer margin, distribution overhead, brand royalty. The garment specs are similar to or weaker than 1:1 fan ($30) — same printed name/number, same standard polyester knit. You pay $60-$80 more for the licensing, not the garment.

Fan ($30) or AAA ($45) — which to pick?

For casual fans, watch parties, gifts, collection display — fan is the right answer. For active players, summer matches, fans who specifically want player-issue feel — AAA. Our buyer split is 72% fan, 28% AAA. The choice is functional (sweat performance) not status.

How do I tell 1:1 from cheap knock-offs?

Four-dimension test: fabric weight (185 g/m² ±5 for fan, 150 g/m² ±5 for AAA), heat-bonded crest with dimensional depth (not flat printed), color accuracy under daylight (not neon-shifted), and stitch density on the side seams (12+ per inch, no loose threads). All four pass on a 1:1 batch; cheap knock-offs typically fail two or more.

Can you ship me the same factory batch as licensed retail?

The pattern files and fabric supplier are the same; the production run is different. The garment is functionally identical. We send QC photos before you pay so you can verify the heat-bonded crest, sleeve cuffs, and neck construction match the licensed retail spec.
